When it comes to baking, cookies are often the first thing that comes to mind. Whether it's the simple pleasure of a warm cookie fresh from the oven or the fun of decorating them for a special occasion, cookies hold a special place in many of our hearts. The beauty of cookies is that they represent more than just a sweet treat—they’re about creating memories.

One of my favorite cookie memories comes from a trip my family and I took to Apple Hill. While exploring the orchards and enjoying all the seasonal treats, we came across a small cookie truck run by a woman who made the most incredible cookies. They were soft, chewy, and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed them so much that we made it a tradition to look for her every time we visited. But after that first time, we never saw her again.

Determined to recreate the magic of those cookies, we decided to try making our own version at home. Excited and hopeful, we gathered our ingredients and followed the recipe as best as we could. But when we pulled them out of the oven, instead of perfectly shaped cookies, we had little dots! At first, we were disappointed, but then something unexpected happened—we fell in love with them. Those little cookie “dots” became a family favorite, and now, every time we make them, we remember that fun day at Apple Hill and how sometimes the best things come from happy accidents.
